Taking a break right where athletes chase hundredths of a second during the Ski World Championships: there’s a certain irony in this, but it in no way diminishes the quality of a stay in the alpine village of Schladming, high above the small Styrian town. Especially not if you’ve temporarily settled into one of the new luxury chalets in this charming settlement at 900 meters above sea level. Spanning 400 m² across three floors, the chalet features six bedrooms with corresponding bathrooms, a spacious living room with a tiled stove, and a generous wellness area with a sauna, fitness area, and private pool. The sun terrace is a given. Equally generous throughout the interior: 1,000 m² of Marmolada Vecchia – meaning steamed, hacked, and prematurely aged spruce – in varying widths, plus 2,000 m² of Piz Nair: thermally treated Siberian larch at 190°C with a band-saw cut. Larch also dominates the exterior: 450 m² of Piz Bernina, hacked and brushed by Mareiner.

The natural beauty of the woods carefully selected from the Mareiner range, along with the sense of home and lifestyle they convey, suits the Schladming chalets perfectly. Luxuriously simple, and conversely, simply luxurious.
