Bread is one of the oldest—if not the first—foods prepared by human hands. This is why the human connection to bread is incredibly deep and firm. Compared to our ancestors who baked flatbreads on hot stones, the bakery Geier, now based in Vienna but primarily in the Weinviertel, entered the craft of working with water, flour, spices, and sourdough relatively late—specifically in 1902.

Four generations later, the spirit in which Geier kneads, rolls, twists, and bakes is as fresh as on the very first day. This is reflected in the stores of this beloved bakery: contemporary design work with auratically beautiful old wood from Mareiner, selected by the executing carpentry firm Krumböck in collaboration with the owner.

Specifically, historically rich reclaimed oak wood from the Davos type, both as carefully sliced middle sections in edged board format and as large design panels. Since 2021, boards and panels from the Zermatt line in their fine gray—gris régulier—have also graced Geier’s places of enjoyment.
